I've got a couple of big projects going on right now. One is near-completion. My novel, SuperGym: Get fit or die trying, is almost ready for the world. Hoping for a fall/early winter release date.
My newest project is just beginning, and I am so excited about it. It involves something I've never done (in writing) - collaboration.
Writing is a solitary act. Hours of blissful time - just me and my computer. Not that I don't play well with others. I've always been open to collaboration, but I haven't had an opportunity to work on something with someone else from start to finish.
My friend Meg suggested that we write a musical together, and I immediately jumped at the chance. I've always wanted to write a musical, but I have no idea how to put songs together. Meg is one of the most talented musicians I know, and I was thrilled she asked me.
It took us a little while, but we finally met to discuss our ideas. After our meeting the ideas began to flow. I came up with an almost-complete outline of the plot. I sent it to Meg. A tweak here and an adjustment there, and we have the beginning of an awesome show.
I'm starting the first draft this week. I always love starting a new project, but I am even more excited for this one. I really can't wait to see what it becomes!!
